The SDFD is empowered under Arizona Revised Statue Title 48, Chapter 5 to provide fire protection to the district and levy taxes for its operation.

Our emergency medical personnel are certified to provide emergency medical services as directed by our base hospital (currently Canyon Vista Medical Center) under the supervision of the base hospital medical director and under Arizona Administrative Code Title 9, Chapter 25 (Emergency Medical Services).

Arizona Open Air Burn Permits are required for all open air burns (except those used for cooking or warmth - i.e. camp fires) under the following:

Burn permits are issued by the fire district under authority from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (AZDEQ). We ONLY issue burn permits to the residents of our district and our primary service area. All others are required to obtain their permit from the AZDEQ at https://my.azdeq.gov/open-burn/openburn/landing.
